Psychotherapy for Adults and Adolescents

“Why Therapy?”

As our world continues to be in the midst of striking transformation and polarization, this is an essential time to seek support. What I offer is the capacity to help you hold the anxiety, sadness, grief, anger, bafflement, and other emotions with which you may be overwhelmed. Through a combination of analytic, somatic and relational work, I will assist you in finding a sense of self, peace in your body and within this beautiful and challenging world.

Please contact me to set up a time to talk on the phone to see if I am the right therapist for you. If I am not, there is a list of resources on the resources page of this website, and I am also happy to help you find the right person for your needs.

Main Specialties…

Trauma

Trauma

Whatever your story is, it is yours to share or yours to keep to yourself. I am not afraid of what you have to say, and I will not push you to tell me what happened, but I will work with you to help make trauma a memory, not a constantly triggered relived experience. Together we will work with your nervous system to find equilibrium in itself once again.

Depression and Anxiety

Depression and Anxiety

Depression can feel like a 10,000 lb weight on the chest. It keeps one inside, in bed, from connecting with other people, and can disrupt sleep, work, eating and the ability to function. Anxiety can do the same and often they are interlocked in a cycle. Our work will be to untangle the patterns keeping you from living the life you want to live.

Grief

Grief

Grief is a natural and essential response to loss. You and I will look at how you are, or are not, processing through your loss, and keep check on your ability to sleep, work, and relate and connect to others. It is not fun and not something to experience alone, and you can work through this.

Aging

Aging

If we are lucky, we grow old. Aging can be a beautiful part of life if we learn to accept the changes in our bodies, our world views, and our relationships. We will traverse through your journey in life and see what we can do together to ease and most importantly, enjoy the beauty of elderhood.

Life Transitions

Life Transitions

Transitions can be difficult. Even wonderful ones such as a new baby, new home, new job, or new relationship, can uncover elements of life you may not have fully worked through. I will stand with you as you approach these corners and doors, and help make what is behind them less wrought.

Teenagers

Teenagers

You are simply the best. If you are a teenager reading this, maybe you are in need of being understood for who you are now, not for who you can become. We will move at your pace, with a push now and then if we are diverging too far. I want to know your interests and dreams, and to create a safe enough space where you can be the best, happiest version of yourself. I will also help your parents learn new ways to understand you.
